READY, SET, SKATE!

Ready-Set-Skate: This is a fun program geared to children aged 3-5. It introduces them to the basics of skating including falling down/getting up, skating forward, gliding, etc. It is focused on partcipation, imagination and having fun! A wide variety of teaching aids are used, like toys, hula hoops, teddy bears, and sometimes even a magic wand!  The program runs Tuesdays from 3:30-4 pm and Thursdays from 2-2:30 pm. Full season price: $175

CANSKATE/PRE-POWER

CanSkate/Pre-Power: Teaches children to skate ‘the right way’, following Skate Canada’s CanSkate and Pre-Powerskate program which is considered to be the essential basis for all types of skating including hockey and ringette. This program intends to inspire confidence and enjoyment in skating. Your skater will learn the fundamentals including balance, skating forward, skating backward, jumping, turning and stopping. We strive for constant movement and always have upbeat, fun music. Skaters will earn badges as they progress! No skating skill is required. All ages welcome. The program runs Mondays & Wednesdays from 3:30-4:15 pm. Full season price: $230

POWERSKATING

PowerSkating:  Designed to develop correct skating techniques and motion. This program is not a learn-to-skate program; skaters wanting to learn how to skate should register for the Ready-Set-Skate or Pre-Power program. Skaters must be able to skate forwards and backwards comfortably. Most aspects of hockey/ringette skating skills will be covered in this program, including forward stride, backward skating, lateral movement, crosscuts, tight turns, stops, quick starts, etc.The program runs Thursdays from 5:45 - 6:15 pm. Full season price: $165
